ON BLOGGING WELL

It occurred to me when I was visiting Seth Godin’s blog recently that there is a “good blogging style” - and he seems to have it. It’s when you develop a concise, vigorous voice and use it to post interesting, relevant or useful bits & pieces. Does this say something about our attention deficit society? Maybe it’s easier for us to think, read, write and react in smaller doses.

You’re right. People should provoke thought, not dictate it.

that is the difference between the web and other media… the web is a constant hunt for what you are looking for, whereas other media is forced down your throat

i think part of seths successful style just might be how busy he is…politics, writing, giving speeches … i have seen him two times in the last 2 months :)
i think his best characteristic is his ability to answer questions on the fly… i saw him talk to a guy about the business card on a CD thing. half way through the guy say “your not helping me” by the time he was done just about everyone in the room thought he was brilliant with his idea to use that commodity in other forms

He does not seem to me to be a free man who does not sometimes do nothing.
