Pew “State of Blogging” report confirms WordBiz RSS survey

Results of Pew’s new report on the “State of Blogging” are all over the Net: 27 percent of U.S. Internet users say they know what a blog is and have read one. By contrast, a mere 5 percent have downloaded an RSS newsreader. Results are a good match with a recent WordBiz survey. Over 450 marketers have responded to our 1-minute RSS Quiz. 72 percent say they are “familiar” with the term RSS. But only 31 percent say they are subscribing to blogs via RSS.

Note that the WordBiz audience is far savvier than consumer Internet users surveyed by Pew. Get a summary of the Pew blogging report here. More details about the results of the WordBiz RSS survey here and here.
